Brought To You By The Letters SEER, HSPF, and AFUE
For Hialeah residents, SEER boils down to one thing, it is an efficiency rating. The higher the number the better. Like most things in life the more advanced it it, the more it costs, and the better it works. Most times you are going to wind up saving money when you get a unit with a higher SEER. This is especially true in areas with expensive energy costs. At a certain point upgrading your air conditioning unit makes the unit not as cost effective, so you should always do the math, or call us to do it for you.
HSPF rating is similar to SEER, but it measure the heating efficiency of a heat pump. The more efficient the higher the number. The higher the number the more your Hialeah home saves on electricity each month. AFUE, or annual fuel utilization efficiency, measures furnace efficiency. This is a percentage rating, unlike the other two, ranging from 80% to 90+%. If you have an older furnace this number may be lower, and you could be wasting a ton of money each winter.
